News Desk: Today, the Adivashi Kurmi Samaj carried out ‘Chaaka jams’ all over Jangalmahal in solidatity to the ongoing farmer’s movement against the three farm bills imposed by the BJP government. This came after their letters to the four BJP MPs of Jangalmahal remained unanswered. The Kurmi community have a significant impact in all 35 constituencies of Jangalmahal.

One of the main leaders of the Kurmi community, Ajit Mahata was present on a chakka jam program said, “We called for the chakka jam program yesterday on the auspicious day of Negachari Dharam Jaduahi in solidarity to those farmers in Punjab-Delhi, who are protesting against these three ‘black laws’. The BJP government is selling land of farmers to corporates like Ambani-Adani and driving the country towards the darkness of corporate colonialism. Over 140 farmers have already sacrificed their lives during the nationwide movement in demand of scraping these laws, but the BJP government is still unmoved. We are holding these symbolic protest programs all over Jangalmahal in demand of scrapping these three anti-farmer laws.”

The Chaaka jams programs were carried out all over the Jangalmahal. Several parts of NH32 were blocked by the protesters and even the passerby joined the protest to show their solidarity to the protesting farmers.
