News Desk: TMC youth leaders allegedly attacked in the Dhalai district of Tripura on Saturday when a delegation led by TMC leaders Debangshu Bhattacharya, Sudip Raha and Jaya Dutta reached the Dhalai district to attend a program. They alleged that their convoy was attacked with huge bricks and stones on the Assam-Tripura State Highway. Several TMC leaders and workers have been injured in the attack. There are also reports of several vehicles being vandalised. After the incident, TMC workers blocked roads and held demonstrations in the area to protest against the attack.
TMCs national general secretary Abhishek Banerjee took to Twitter to condemn the attack. He said “The goons of BJP Tripura have shown their true colours. This barbaric attack on Trinamool workers reveals the ‘Goonda Raj’ in Tripura. Your threats and attacks only prove your inhumanity. Do what you can… Trinamool will not budge an inch”
