“To defeat the BJP, everybody needs to come together”: West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee

News Desk: West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee met Congress president Sonia Gandhi in Delhi on Wednesday. After the meeting, she told reporters about the positive side of the meeting and said that everybody needs to come together to defeat BJP.

She said “Sonia ji invited me for tea, Rahul ji was also there. It was a very good meeting, positive meeting. We discussed the country’s political situation in general. A positive result should come out of it in the near future”

“We discussed the issue of Opposition unity. To defeat the BJP, everybody needs to come together. Everyone will have to work together” she added.

About the Pegasus snooping row, she said “Why does the government not answer our question on the Pegasus controversy? They should reply. Don’t the people want to know? If debates and discussions won’t happen in Parliament, then where would they take place?”

Earlier today, she told reporters “Poore desh me khela hoga. It’s a continuous process…When general elections come, it will be Modi vs country”

I want to see sachcha din, bahut acha din dekh liya” she added.
