News Desk: Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra and Samajwadi Party leader Akhilesh Yadav had an unplanned courtesy meeting on the way from Delhi to Lucknow. According to the Samajwadi Party, the meeting was spontaneous and no political discussion took place between the two.
In a photo taken aboard the flight, Akhilesh can be seen seemingly smiling from behind his mask and sharing a light-hearted moment with Priyanka.
Both Priyanka and Akhilesh have intensified their attacks on the ruling party, BJP, as the Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections draw near. Although it’s still unclear whether the Congress will fight it out solo or will seek support of allies, both the principal opposition parties in the state Samajwadi Party and Bahujan Samaj Party have ruled out any alliance with a national party.
