News Desk: In a shocking incident reported from Rewa district of Madhya Pradesh, a Dalit man’s hand was chopped off by a sword after he demanded his wages from an upper caste man. Though the victim’s hand was restored by doctors, his condition is said to be critical.
The accused fled from the spot after perpetrating the crime. However, three accused have been arrested by police in connection with the incident.
The horrific incident took place in Dolmau village under Sirmaur police station in Rewa district. The 45-year-old victim Ashok Saket worked as a labourer. Saket had given his services to one Ganesh Mishra at his village in Dolmau.
It is alleged that Mishra did not give money to Saket and turned him down on one pretext or other.
On one day, when Saket went to demand his wages, Mishra lost his cool and cut off the labourer’s hand with the sword. After the incident, some accused tried to hide the severed hand of the victim but in vain.
The Dalit victim is now battling for life at Sanjay Gandhi Memorial Hospital. Doctors performed a complex operation to rejoin the hand of Saket.
Police have now booked the acused under Section 307 (attempt to murder) of IPC and Section 3(2)1 of the SC/SCT Act.
SP Navneet Bhasin said prime accused Ganesh Mishra, his friend Ratnesh Mishra and one Krishna Kumar Mishra have been arrested.
