Big announcement by CM Mamata Banerjee! Subsidy on fruits and vegetables and prevention of adulterated drugs

News Desk: Addressing a press conference at Nabanna on Thursday, West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee made a huge announcement in the form of subsidy on fruits and vegetables and prevention on sales of adulterated drugs.

She said that ‘Sufal Bangla’ outlets are being set up across the state so that kitchen essentials are available at much lower prices than the market and also directed the Enforcement Branch to monitor the markets.

Let’s take a look at the decision of the Chief Minister to control the market price:

1. ‘Sufal Bangla’ outlets will be increased to 500 from 332.

2. Launching of mobile outlets of ‘Sufal Bangla’.

3. The outlet of ‘Sufal Bangla’ will be open from 8 am to 11 pm and from 3 pm to 6 pm.

4. Price of daily essentials will be much lower than the market price.

5. Potato, Onion, Cucumber, Banana, Gourd, Cabbage, Cauliflower, Ginger, Garlic, Watermelon, Dates, Chhola – these food items can be found at low prices in ‘Sufal Bangla’.

She also discussed the price of medicines today. “Sales of adulterated drugs are on the rise in the market. There are various reports. It is Delhi’s responsibility, but they are not doing that. So we are setting up a drug laboratory. I have taken two decisions to stop selling adulterated drugs” she said.

She added “State procured a lot of medical equipment at the time of Corona, but they are not being used at present. So there is a possibility of getting damaged. And that’s why we have taken a decision of setting up A committee to take care of these equipments”.
