BJP blames TMC for hurling bombs at a local BJP leader’s house

News Desk: Bombs were hurdled at a local BJP leader’s house in Habra area of North 24 Parganas district in West Bengal shortly after 11 pm on Monday night. The party has blamed the Trinamool Congress of attacking BJP Mandal President Bhaskar Kumar Das’s house in Habra municipality.

While the Bharatiya Janata Party has blamed the Trinamool Congress, the latter has accused the saffron party of staging the attacks to secure tickets to contest the upcoming West Bengal Assembly election 2021.

The incident happened on Monday night at Loknath Sarni area under Habra municipality of North 24 Parganas district. It is alleged that two bombs were hurled at Bhaskar Kumar Das’s house.

Upon receiving the news, a huge police force led by IC Gautam Mitra of Habra Police Station reached the spot. An investigation has been initiated in the case.

After the incident, BJP workers in Habra staged a protest in front of the main gate of Habra police station, demanding immediate action against the culprits. A written complaint has been lodged at the Habra police station.

BJP’s Bhaskar also accused the Trinamool Congress of hurling bombs at his house and added that the BJP could not be stopped by intimidation. Trinamool has, however, denied the allegations.

Rejecting the claims, Trinamool Congress leader and Habra municipality municipal administrator Nilimesh Das said the BJP workers were carrying out the bombings to secure their tickets.
