Debjit Mukherjee: After the abrogation of Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir, the first election was held in Ladakh. Voting for the Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council elections was completed smoothly in Kargil on Wednesday. Although the voting was held under tight security, local people voted in booths in a festive mood. At the end of the day, the total voter turnout was 77.61 percent.
