Debjit Mukherjee, Kolkata: Yasir Haider, son-in-law of Kolkata Mayor Firhad Hakim, has joined the Congress. Yasir declared rebellion against TMC in 2021 as well. He expressed his anger on Facebook after not getting a ticket in the assembly elections. This time he left the party and joined the Congress.
On this day, he said, “TMC did not give me ticket in 2021. I left TMC in March that year. Since then I was not active in politics. But now I want to work with Congress. I am thankful that Congress is giving me that opportunity. I am inspired by Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury. I want to work as a Congress worker.”
