TMC protest in Bengal over harassment of Abhishek Banerjee by Delhi police

Debjit Mukherjee, Kolkata: TMC protests in Bengal over Delhi Police harassment of Abhishek Banerjee at Delhi’s Krishi Bhavan. They protested at Gangajalghati and Dantan since last night. The protest continued by burning tyres on the road. The supporters protested by sitting on Durgapur railway line. Protest was also seen at Vabla station in Basirhat. They also protested in Cooch Behar, Rampurhat, Diamond Harbour and Alipurduar.

Abhishek Banerjee has called for Raj Bhavan Abhiyan on Thursday to protest the police arrest from Delhi’s Krishi Bhavan on Tuesday. But before Thursday, the heat of Delhi came to Bengal! TMC and their various organizations took to the streets in Kolkata and various districts on Wednesday to protest the incident on Tuesday. Protests were seen at Kolkata, South 24 Parganas, North 24 Parganas, Howrah, West Medinipur, Birbhum, Bankura, West Burdwan and Coochbehar. In Kolkata, TMCP protested in front of Ballygunge ITI College. West Bengal State Government Employees Federation took out a protest march from Nabanna to Mahakaran. In Laketown today, TMC protested against Tuesday’s incident. Also in South 24 Parganas, the TMC protested by blocking roads and burning tyres in Abhishek Banerjee’s Lok Sabha constituency, Sarisha in Diamond Harbor and Mandirtala in Gangasagar.
