“I went to the state several times and saw people of West Bengal be it women, youth, farmers all want to vote for PM Modi’s vision”: Yogi Adityanath

News Desk: Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath on Friday said his West Bengal counterpart Mamata Banerjee having been forced to to chant Vedic hymns and Hindu mantras during poll rallies, is an “ideological” victory for the BJP. This, he said, will culminate into electoral win for the party soon.

He said “Mamata Banerjee, who was opposed to Hindu festivals and used to consider Hindu rituals as symbol of communalism, is chanting shlokas, which is an ideological victory for us. Today Mamata Banerjee is going to temples, maybe only during the election season, but I went to the state several times and saw people of West Bengal be it women, youth, farmers all want to vote for PM Modi’s vision and for change of guard in the state”

“It was Mamata Banerjee government, which had banned Durga Puja and Saraswati Puja in the state. People could perform the puja only after the high court stayed the government order banning Durga Puja. The issue of Durga Puja and Muharram procession timings clash had happened in UP also but timings for both were rescheduled in a meeting with representatives of the two communities after which both took place peacefully” he added.

He further added “After the high court order, the West Bengal government approached Uttar Pradesh seeking details of the guidelines which helped both the religious processions happening peacefully”
