News Desk: Netizens slammed Karnataka Congress MLA Zameer Ahmed Khan over his controversial remarks in connection with Karnataka Hijab Row.
Contradicting Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, the Congress MLA said “Once girls mature, to hide their beauty they are kept in the hijab. In India, the rape rate is the highest, and what is the reason for this? It is because they are not in ‘Goshe Parde”
His controversial remarks made Congress land up in an embarrassing situation and it was criticised by activists too.
Though he is not the first political leader to make such misogynistic remarks. Four days ago, Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai’s political secretary MP Renukacharya made a regressive statement that women should not wear attire that ‘excite and provoke men’.
