“Law and order in the state has collapsed”: Jagdeep Dhankar

News Desk: When it comes to criticizing chief minister Mamata Banerjee, the Bharatiya Janata Party has always been loud. With the recent arrests of Al-Qaida terrorists from Bengal, the arch rival got a chance to attack the ruling party. On Sunday, the chief minister sent a nine page letter to governor Jagdeep Dhankar requesting him to act within the mandates of the constitution.

On Monday, the governor told a press conference “If the Constitution is not protected, I will have to take action. The post of governor has been ignored for a long time. I am forced to consider Article 154 of the Constitution. Due to electronic surveillance I’m forced to make WhatsApp video calls”

He added “West Bengal has become a police-ruled state. Police rule and democracy cannot go hand in hand. Law and order in the state has collapsed. Maoist extremism is also raising its head in the state. Terrorist modules are also carrying out activities from this state”

On Sunday, even the national general secretary of BJP Kailash Vijayvargiya slammed the Mamata government for providing shelter to terrorists and naxalites for her own political interests and capturing minority votes.
