News Desk: TMC leader Chhatradhar Mahato got accused by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) under various sections of the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act (UAPA). They also asked for a custodial interrogation of Mahato and four others in connection with the killing of a CPM leader in 2009 in Lalgarh.
Mahato was asked to be present before the NIA court but his lawyer said that copy of the petition filed by the NIA on August 26 has not been served to his client. He, therefore, prayed for time which the court granted. He also said that Mahato has been admitted to a Kolkata Hospital and will undergo a COVID-19 test tomorrow.
