President Ramnath Kovind gives green signals to the farm bills

News Desk: President Ramnath Kovind gives green signal to the three farm bills passed by the Parliament. Oppositions asked the president to not to approve the bills as these bills are a direct attack on the farmers. However Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that these bills will be beneficial for both small and marginal farmers and there’ll be no problems in Minimum Support Price (MSP).

The farm bills created widespread protest across the country. Roads and cities were blocked. Effigy of Prime Minister Narendra Modi was burnt. Copies of farm bills were also burnt. The Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) called this a ‘Dark Day’. The Congress backed the Bharat Bandh called by various farmer groups. ‘Rail Roko’ agitation in Punjab continues. Farmers in Karnataka called for a ‘Karnataka Bandh’ on September 28 to protest this act.
