‘Rajput Virodhi BJP’ and ‘Rajput Virodhi RSS’ hashtags trending on Twitter became the second most trending hashtag

News Desk: Hashtags ‘Rajput Virodhi BJP’ and ‘Rajput Virodhi RSS’ trended on Twitter on Monday with some community leaders claiming that the ruling party at the Centre and its perceived ideological parent are trying to distort history. ‘Rajput Virodhi BJP’ became the second most trending hashtag on Twitter with over 73,000 tweets.

“There is a clear message from the RSS-BJP side. They don’t like Rajputs. In the name of uniting Hindus, they are trying to snatch the Rajput identity of our ancestors like Samrat Mihir Bhoj, Anangpal Tomar, Prithviraj Chauhan, Suheldev and others,” said Shree Rashtriya Rajput Karni Sena head Sukhdev Singh Gogamedi.

“BJP leaders are unveiling statues of great Rajput kings and attributing them to some other castes. This is not acceptable,” said Sukhdev Singh Gogamedi.

“India has been shaped by our ancestors. There are three regiments in the Indian army that have Rajputs from different parts of the country. We have made our history and nobody is allowed to steal it in the name of Hindutva unity,” said Ravi Nayal, a Rajput community leader from Uttarakhand.

“Samrat Mihir Bhoj was a Rajput, so were Samrat Prithviraj Chauhan, Suheldev Bais and Anangpal Tomar. Attributing these heroes to other castes is a vicious plan of the BJP and RSS to discredit Rajputs,” said Ravi Nayal.

Many statues of historical figures like Samrat Mihir Bhoj and others have been attributed to other communities and some of them have been inaugurated by local BJP leaders.

Gogamedi also claimed that if “this distortion of history” doesn’t stop, Rajput leaders will run a campaign to vote against the BJP in the upcoming elections.

“If they don’t stop facilitating those who are trying to steal Rajput history, they will face a humiliating defeat in the upcoming elections. There cannot be any compromise with Rajput dignity,” said Gogamedi.
