TMC and BJP to meet Chief Electoral Officer over Nandigram incident

News Desk: Both BJP and TMC leaders will hold back-to-back meetings with the Chief Electoral Officer in Kolkata on Thursday over the Nandigram incident in which CM Mamata Banerjee was allegedly attacked and left with severe injuries on her leg.

While leaders of the ruling TMC will be meeting with the Chief Electoral Officer at noon, a BJP delegation will head to the CEO’s office at 12:30 pm, soon after TMC’s meeting.

Meanwhile, the Election Commission has asked the Chief Secretary and CEO of West Bengal for a detailed report on the alleged attack on Mamata Banerjee by 5 pm on Friday.

Election Commission has sought a report from Alapan Bandyopadhyay, Chief Secretary of West Bengal, Vivek Dubey, special police observer, Ajay Nayak, special general observer of West Bengal, to submit a detailed report on the Nandigram incident.
