West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee will be the new chairperson of the parliamentary party of the TMC

News Desk: TMC MP Derek O’Brien on Friday announced that West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee will be the new chairperson of the parliamentary party of the TMC.

He said “Mamata Banerjee will become our Trinamool parliamentary party chairperson. This is a reality we are formalising. Mamata Banerjee is a seven-time MP. She was already guiding the parliamentary party. This is a strategic decision”

On disruptions and opposition uproar, he said “We want parliament to run. We want two or three issues to be discussed. Pegasus issue needs to be discussed… We want the farm laws to be repealed”

“We were not bothered about Dr Sen’s suspension. The people will suspend them. Our colleague Mohua Moitra has moved a privilege motion” he added.
