Yogi Adityanath bans selling of liquor and meat in a 10 km area around Mathura-Vrindavan

News Desk: Declaring the Mathura-Vrindavan area a ‘pilgrimage site’Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath bans selling of liquor and meat in a 10km area around it.

Yogi Adityanath’s message to officials and people 

Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath visited Mathura to celebrate Janmasthami. There he ordered officials to prepare plans to ban liquor and meat in twin towns of Mathura and Vrindavan.

Adityanath said “The officers concerned are directed to make plans for the ban as well as for the engagement of people involved in such activities in some other trade”

But he also suggested “Those engaged in the liquor and meat trade may take up selling milk to revive the glory of Mathura”
