All India Trinamool Congress has launched a digital campaign against BJP

News Desk: Ahead of the 2021 Assembly elections in West Bengal, All India Trinamool Congress has launched a digital campaign against BJP. The campaign is called ‘Mark Yourself Safe from BJP’ aimed at attacking the Bharatiya Janata Party on social media platforms.

Party sources claimed it is a way to unite people of the state against the ‘wrongdoings being committed by the saffron party across the country.’

The website, savebengalfrombjp.com, has already seen over 1, 21,000 people mark themselves safe. The number is increasing every hour.

Even the Facebook page for this campaign has also registered nearly 80,000 members.

In a post shared by TMC on Twitter through “Banglar Gorbo Mamata”, they said, “The BJP is destroying the social fabric of Bengal by propagating divisive politics, autocracy, inequality and restriction on choice. The BJP believes in propagating hate through structural violence against marginalised communities, atrocities against women and so on.”

The election fever is high in the state. Both parties — TMC and BJP– are attacking each other regularly on almost every issue and even non-issues are being turned into issues.

TMC sources shared, “People need to know the tactics used by BJP for spreading canards against them. Hence they came up with the website through which people can enroll and mark them ‘safe from BJP'”.

The day of Durga Puja was chosen for the launch of the campaign as since more people in West Bengal are expected to be active on social media platforms during this time.
