BJP workers and police clashed during their march to KMC, several senior BJP leaders detained

News Desk: Despite police denying permission for programmes, the BJP party workers on Monday took out rallies to protest the fake vaccination racket in the city. During their march to the Kolkata Municipal Corporation (KMC) headquarters, the saffron brigade clashed with the police.

The protest rally was supposed to start from Subodh Mullick Square near Hind Cinema. But later the route changed and the rally started from Ganesh Chandra Avenue. It was at Central Avenue, where the police used barricades to stop the protest.

Several senior leaders from the saffron party like Agnimitra Paul and Sayantan Basu were detained.

State BJP chief Dilip Ghosh said “TMC is trying to hush up the alleged connection between Debanjan Deb and their leaders and KMC bosses. We organised this demonstration to expose this nexus”

“When the TMC was in the opposition, they used to conduct programmes without any permission. And now if we want to hold any political event, we are prevented from doing so” he added.
