Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee slams PM Modi and party MPs at a rally in Purulia

News Desk: Addressing an election campaign rally in the Purulia district on Monday, chief minister Mamata Banerjee slammed Prime Minister Narendra Modi, labelling him incompetent and cannot run the country. She also took a dig at the party’s MPs of the state and said that they have done nothing for the people.

She said “I was injured in an incident and some thought I won’t be able to step out with a broken leg. It’s my good luck that I survived. I have a plaster and I cannot walk. My pain is not greater than the suffering of people as democracy is being trampled through dictatorship. I will continue to roam around Bengal on this wheelchair. If I go on bed rest, who will reach out to the people of Bengal?”

She added “Many BJP MPs nominated for Bengal elections have done nothing for state. They will engineer riots, spread lies if they win polls. No other government in the world has been able to do as much work as us. Their Prime Minister cannot run the country, totally incompetent. Wait for a few days, my legs will be better. I will see whether your legs move freely on Bengal’s soil”

Chief minister Mamata Banerjee also said what she did for West Bengal. “For the first three months of the lockdown, we gave each family five kilos of rice. Over the next three months, till September, we would provide five kilos of rice along with an equal amount of flour to each family. We will provide a free ration till June 2021. We give better quality rice than the Centre. Only 6.01 crore people or around 60% of the people in Bengal have been benefited from the Centre free ration scheme. We are providing to 10 crore people. We are engaged in development and BJP is increasing prices of fuel and gas, there is no kerosene also. Our government has announced widow pension of ₹ 1000. We have distributed caste certificates under Duare Sarkar. We have built Raghunath Murmu campus”
