Death of Madan Ghorai – A new episode in Bengal politics

News Desk: The Bharatiya Janata Party of West Bengal has lost another battle when chief minister Mamata Banerjee agreed to drop all allegations and release Balwinder Singh, the Sikh man whose ‘turban collapse’ created a controversy on religious sentiments in the state. The chief minister gave his wife a salwar suit as a part of courtesy and Singh’s wife Karamjit Kaur decided to give her a ‘pagri’ in return as a sign of respect.

Now the death of Madan Ghorai came out as a new chapter of battle between the All India Trinamool Congress and Bharatiya Janata Party. The arch rival leaders alleged that Ghorai has been killed in police custody. Kailash Vijayvargiya, BJP’s national general secretary and in-charge of Bengal, accused Mamata Banerjee of cooperating with the police to kill Ghorai.

Recently Governor Jagdeep Dhankar wrote a letter to Mamata Banerjee over the custodial death of Madan Ghorai. The letter reads “There is outrage at such lawlessness in state & outside, & consequent to Oct 8 police excess Balwinder Singh is already poster boy for blatant human rights violations in the state”

To be precise, the Bharatiya Janata Party is using the ‘party worker death’ card from the very beginning. Just to keep the TMC under continuous pressure, they added the death of Madan Ghorai along with the assassination of Manish Shukla. Their aim is to vilify the TMC and make people believe that the ruling party believes in tyranny.
