“If it is a poor club under the age of 10, we will help them a little”: Mamata Banerjee

News Desk: Inspite of opposition critics and a case filed in Calcutta High Court over carrying out Durga Puja, Mamata Banerjee forwarded her helping hand to some new puja committees that are in financial difficulties. During online inauguration of Pujas she said “A club gets money only after it is 10 years. If it is a poor club under the age of 10, help them a little. Also help girls pujas. Puja is not allowed in some states but in Bengal it is allowed”. She also requested to cooperate with outsiders coming to see the pujas.

Earlier this month, Banerjee declared early salary of government workers as well as early allowances of Hindu priests. In addition, a couple of days back the chief minister also announced “Mamatamayir Heshel” under which thousands of poor people at Kasba will get free rice and meat for five days during the Pujas. The coupons will be distributed to interested people every day and the distribution will start from 12 noon.
