Debjit Mukherjee, Kolkata: Death sentence quashed in Kamduni gang-rape and murder case. Calcutta High Court ordered life imprisonment instead. The court ordered life imprisonment for convicts Ansar Ali Mollah and Saiful Ali Mollah. Amin Ali, Immanul Haque, Bholanath Naskar and Aminur Islam were declared ‘not guilty’.
Moushumi Kayal, a friend of the rape victim, lost consciousness on the order. The other friend Tumpa got upset as well. Both burst into tears. They are thinking of going to the Supreme Court.
