“The money given to various clubs on the occasion of Durga Puja cannot be used for any decorative work”: Calcutta High Court

News Desk: As the 2021 polls in West Bengal are knocking at the door, the Bharatiya Janata Party is trying to make full use of  ‘communal card‘ and ‘law and order’ to defame and overthrow the ruling All India Trinamool Congress from the throne. The arch rival even went to the extent of filing a case on the TMC party at the Calcutta High Court regarding the ‘Durga Puja 2020′.

On Friday the Calcutta HC ordered “The money given to various clubs on the occasion of Durga Puja cannot be used for any decorative work. 25% of the people’s money could be used for police and public coordination. But the remaining will have to be spent on buying masks and sanitizers”. The court also directed the state government to submit a full account of the expenditure in the form of an affidavit.
