Will protests help Mamata Banerjee to reduce BJP influence in Bengal?

News Desk: The All India Trinamool Congress leader Mamata Banerjee believes in aggressive policies to run her state and when it comes to rivalry with their main opposition Bharatiya Janata Party, her party took to streets to protest against them, be it GST dues or farm bills protests.

Now this time, the TMC government will hit the streets to protest the gang rape incident that took place in the Hathras district of Uttar Pradesh. Things went worse when the cops under Yogi Adityanath government harassed her party leaders on their way to Hathras. Journalists and the Gandhi family met with cop harassment too on their way to meet the victim’s family.

As women safety and farming are main point of focus for Indian government, so the ‘anti-agricultural’ farm bills and the Hathras incident has vilified the Bharatiya Janata Party in the eyes of the nation. So Mamata Banerjee’s protests against these issues will reduce the influence of BJP in Bengal to some extent. Especially the Hathras incident will lead to loss of women votes for BJP. The increase in rapes in Uttar Pradesh made women aware of the kind of security they will get under the BJP rule.
