BJP leaders got injured during protest

News Desk: The ‘Nabanno Chalo’ agitation on Thursday got marked with violence and injuries. Hundreds of protestors were seen in a power struggle with the police outside the gates of Nabanna. In return the cops used teargas and lathi charged them.

The Bengal BJP leaders faced serious injuries during the protest. Raju Banerjee was taken to the Apollo Hospital once he started vomiting blood due to the chemicals in his mouth. MP Jyotirmoy Singh Mahato said “Police, civic volunteers as well as some thugs deliberately came in the middle of the procession and threw bricks. Police charged batons at our peaceful procession”

Leaders Arvind Menon, Tapash Ghosh, Sayantan Basu and others got injured when police fired water cannons and tear gas. Dilip Ghosh faced brutal blows too. The police in return lodged complaint against BJP activists and supporters for the bombs and bricks thrown at them. Firearms were also recovered at Howrah Maidan.
